According to GOST, to produce outer layers of plywood the following coniferous species veneer is applied: pines, larches, firs, silver firs, cedars. Inner layers may be produced out of both broadleaves and coniferous species veneers.
Depending on the outer layer, coniferous plywood may be of 5 types as follows: elite (Ex), 1st (Ix), 2nd (IIx), 3rd (IIIx) and 4th (IVx).
